Abstract


Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecerdasan emosi dengan kompetensi sosial guru PAUD Kecamatan Minas Kabupaten Siak. Adapun subyek penelitian berjumlah 41 guru. Penelitian ini merupakan bagian dari penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan skala kecerdasan emosi dan kompetensi sosial dan hipotesis yang diajukan adalah adanya hubungan antara kecerdasan emosi dengan kompetensi sosial guru PAUD. Berdasarkan hasil pengumpulan dan pengolahan data, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan analisa data, maka hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kecerdasan emosi guru memiliki kategori tinggi (97,6%) dan kompetensi sosial guru yang masuk dalam kategori tinggi berjumlah 20 orang (48,8%), 14 orang (34,1%) kategori sedang. Selanjutnya, hasil uji hipotesis menyatakan adanya hubungan yang positif kecerdasan emosi dengan kompetensi sosial guru PAUD (nilai R = 0,1312), semakin tinggi kecerdasan emosi maka semakin tinggi pula kompetensi sosial guru PAUD, begitu juga sebaliknya, jika kecerdasan emosinya rendah maka rendah pula kompetensi sosialnya
