Peer Review Process

Aulad: Journal on Early Childhood applies a double-blind peer review: reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

  1. Initial screening (≤ 2 weeks): the editor checks scope, compliance with the author guidelines and template, and similarity (see Plagiarism Policy). Manuscripts may be desk-rejected at this stage.
  2. Peer review (± 4–8 weeks): each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the field, at least one of whom is from an institution different from the authors'. Reviewers use the journal's review form assessing originality, methodology, ethics, clarity of results, discussion, and references.
  3. Editorial decision: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. If reviewer recommendations conflict, the editor may invite a third reviewer.
  4. Revision: authors submit revisions with a response-to-reviewers table within 2–4 weeks. Major revisions are returned to the reviewers.
  5. Final decision: made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewer reports. Publication decisions are never influenced by payment of fees.
  6. Copyediting, layout, proofreading, and publication.

The average time from submission to first decision is 2 weeks and from submission to publication 3 months.

Appeals

Authors may appeal a rejection by writing to the Editor-in-Chief with a reasoned explanation. Appeals are assessed by an editor not involved in the original decision; the outcome is final.
